Participants will begin with instruction on the slide and its importance in the reading classroom. Initial consonants can be practiced with vowels. Learn the three most vital reasons for using the initial bigram v endings in word families. Once placed, teachers often lose valuable instruction time during corrective feedback. This session will explain how to quickly identify mistakes and make corrections while being discrete and maintaining dignity among students using kinesthetic cues. Participants will also identify and learn how to teach five phonetic skills and two decoding skills for reading multisyllabic words.
